About the Lemosho Route
The Lemosho Route starts on the western side of Kilimanjaro, traversing stunning rainforest, moorlands, and alpine desert before joining the Machame Route at Shira Plateau. This route is known for its remote and scenic beauty and high success rate.
Distance: Approximately 70 kilometers (43 miles) round trip.
Duration: Typically completed in 8 days, with a 7-day option for experienced climbers.
Starting Point: Londorossi Gate, located on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro.

7 Nights / 8 Days Itinerary
Day 1: Trek from Londorossi Gate through lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650 meters).
Day 2: Ascend through moorland to Shira Camp 1 (3,610 meters).
Day 3: Continue to Shira Camp 2 (3,850 meters) across Shira Plateau with views of Kibo Peak.
Day 4: Trek to Lava Tower (4,630 meters) for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp (3,960 meters).
Day 5: Climb Barranco Wall and trek to Karanga Camp (4,035 meters).
Day 6: Trek to Barafu Camp (4,673 meters) to prepare for the summit push.
Day 7: Early morning ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), followed by descent to Mweka Camp (3,068 meters).
Day 8: Final descent to Mweka Gate for your certificate and return to Moshi.
