About the Marangu Route

Known as the "Coca-Cola Route," Marangu is the oldest and most established route to Mount Kilimanjaro’s summit. Unique among routes, it offers hut accommodations instead of tents, providing trekkers with comfortable dormitory-style sleeping arrangements.

Distance: Approximately 72 kilometers (45 miles) round trip.

Duration: 5 to 6 days, with a recommended extra day for acclimatization.

Starting Point: Marangu Gate, southeastern side of Kilimanjaro.
