About the Umbwe Route

The Umbwe Route is known for its steep and direct ascent, starting from the south. It quickly gains elevation, offering a swift but physically demanding path with spectacular views. Due to the rapid ascent, it's best suited for experienced trekkers with good acclimatization.

Distance: Approximately 53 kilometers (33 miles) round trip.

Duration: Typically completed in 6 days, though a 7-day itinerary is possible for added acclimatization.
